PROJECT STORY

Expanding on the important work already being done by the organization LEB (Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Business) Congo, this 6-week, in-person program will focus on empowering 100 individuals in Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire with leadership, entrepreneurship and team management skills and business development.

 

The Capacity-Building Program for the Unemployed Living with Disabilities includes: in-person workshops, virtual coaching, and a pitch competition to turn business ideas into viable ventures. The positive impact involves empowering disabled youth, ages 18-35 years old, in creating job opportunities and reducing juvenile crime.

PURPOSE EARTH GRANT SUPPORT

​

Through the support of a $7,000 Purpose Earth grant, the

6-week capacity-building program will be able to afford the venue rental fees in both Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire to host their program, as well as provide materials and refreshments for the 100 youth attending. The grant also enables a stipend for teachers and coaches facilitating the program in both locations. The Purpose Earth grant will also provide $400 awards to five students to go toward their innovative business ideas at the completion of the program.

I had to mobilize my team so that we can tackle this unemployment issue because we believe that everyone should have equal opportunities regardless of their status, gender, race, and religion. Through this project, we really want to empower youths living with disabilities so that they can unleash their hidden potential and change the narrative.”
